How it works

From A Short Brief To Lines You Can Send

The AI drafts; our own checks decide what you see.

  1. 01

Describe The Email And Who It's For

Two sentences on why you're writing and one on the reader's role are enough to work from.

  2. 02

    Choose Tone And Merge Fields

Pick plain, friendly or direct, and tick the merge fields a draft may use. Nothing else gets added.

  3. 03

We Test Every Draft Before You See It

Each draft runs through the same rules as our subject line tester, and any with a problem is left out.

  4. 04

Copy A Line Or Start From Yours

Copy a subject and its preview text, or give a starting line and get versions of it that pass.

What every draft must pass

Rules We Enforce On Every Draft

A draft that breaks one of these never reaches you.

  • No Fake Replies

No draft starts with Re:, Fwd: or a localised version of either. Google's sender guidelines reserve those for real replies and forwards.

    • Reply and forward prefixes
    • Repeated prefixes
    • Deceptive openers
  • No New Numbers Or Names

A figure, a percentage or a capitalised name has to come from your brief. Drafts that invent one are dropped.

    • Numbers and percentages
    • Company and product names
    • Claims such as guaranteed or proven
  • Only Your Merge Fields

Drafts use only the fields you tick, and each one must still read well for a contact with that field empty.

    • Fields you allowed
    • Empty-field check
    • No placeholders in other tools' formats
  • Clean On Our Checks

No phrases from our spam list, no capitals or exclamation marks, and preview text that adds something new.

    • Spam-list phrases
    • Capitals and punctuation
    • Fit measured on seven phones

Writing the brief

What To Put In The Brief

Say why you are writing to this person, in a sentence or two, and who they are. A specific reason gives the AI something to work with; a product category does not.

Add any detail you are happy to see in a subject line, such as your product's name or a figure you can stand behind. The generator only uses numbers and names that appear in what you write.

Leave out offers and deadlines you would not put in the email itself. A subject line has to reflect the message it sits on, which the FTC's CAN-SPAM guide makes a legal requirement in the US.

AI-powered

Drafts Checked Before You See Them

SpirenAI, SendCanyon's AI, reads your brief as data and drafts subject lines with preview text in the tone you pick. Every draft then runs through the same checks as our subject line tester: spam-list phrases, capitals, punctuation, fake replies, merge fields and fit on seven phones. A draft with any problem, or with a number, name or merge field you never gave it, is left out.

  • Drafts from your brief, in plain, friendly or direct tone
  • Every draft tested on the same rules as our tester
  • No invented numbers, names, claims or merge fields
  • Text you type is treated as data, never as instructions

Subject Line Generator Questions

What the generator does, what it won't do and how to get better drafts.

It turns a short description of your email into several subject lines you can copy. Ours, run by SpirenAI, SendCanyon's AI, also writes a matching preview text for each. It keeps only drafts that pass our subject line tester, so you don't get lines with spam-list phrases, shouting capitals or a fake Re:. The drafts are suggestions: copy one, edit it, or test your own version.

Put Your Best Subject Lines Head To Head.

SendCanyon tests subject line variants on every sequence step, sends from your own mailboxes and drafts whole sequences with AI.
